Artist Statement
I have always loved painting. From childhood, I have enjoyed mixing different colors and smelling fresh paint. My favorite technique is gouache. Using gouache, I can express the manner in which I see and feel the world around me. I like to paint landscapes of architecture and flowers.
In my artwork, I like to combine the rich sensuous color of nature with an impressionistic manner of painting that I studied in Russia.
My favorite times are when I can be outside with my easel, working. I am very happy to live in Raleigh because the North Carolina weather allows painting outside all year round.
